90th Anniversary Celebrations

Fagan and Whalley celebrated their 90th anniversary in style over two days, 1st & 2nd September with two unique and totally different events. On Friday, they opened their doors of two new facilities to customers and suppliers to show case not just the public face of the company but also what goes on behind the scenes. Guests were wined and dined at F&W’s new head office, Albion House, where there were displays showcasing the history of the company, HR, Training, Compliance, Customer Service and the business’ five core services, before being taken on a guided bus tour of the Padiham operations site and the new distribution hub at Burnley Bridge. Councillor Howard Baker: The Mayor of Burnley took a closer look of the new facility taking a trip in one of the new very narrow aisle fork lift trucks (VNA) supplied by Crown Equipment. Back at Albion House further networking took place with several customers being introduced to their key Customer Service contact putting faces to names being an important part of the day.

Behind the scenes final preparations were in progress for the Staff Family Fun Day that took place on a sunny Saturday, with over 900 family members attending. A range of attractions were available including a Ferris Wheel, Carousel, Dodgems, Bouncy Castle, Model Truck Racing, Balloon Modelling and Face Painting. Musical entertainment was provided by UTC Events with two, one-hour sets and the day concluded with a raffle drawn by Graham & Stephen Fagan who also took the opportunity to thank all the sponsors and suppliers. It is hoped that everybody who attended enjoyed both occasions and the question is now being asked “How will Fagan & Whalley celebrate their centenary in ten years time?
