Insurance Deal Provides Additional Training
A new agreement between a haulier and its insurance company has created further investment in the company’s in-house training facilities. Padiham based Fagan & Whalley Ltd. have extended their relationship with insurers HDI Global SE to 2020, providing stability for the next three years. Arranged by Backhouse Insurance Brokers, a leading local independent insurance broker, specialising in providing insurance services to both commercial and private clients, they were instrumental in the success of the new arrangement. This was also due to Fagan & Whalley’s continuous investment in high specification vehicles, associated telematics, in cab CCTV, development of the compliance department and investment in staff training. The company is currently creating a drop-in education centre at their Albion House head office where employees will have access to e-learning and other short courses.
Allen Rees, General Manager of Fagan & Whalley said “We are delighted to be furthering our professional relationship with Backhouse and HDI Global SE. This deal creates a step change to how road transport companies will view their insurance provision in the future.”
Peter Barnes, Managing Director of Backhouse Insurance Brokers, commented “We have worked with Fagan & Whalley for many years and it is great news that we have been able to agree a further long-term agreement that works for all parties.”
Michael Gwilt, Motor Fleet Risk Manager of HDI Global SE – UK, remarked “We started our journey with Fagan & Whalley in 2013 and have worked in partnership with them and Backhouse Insurance since. Together we have developed an understanding of the ongoing risk management and are delighted to be underwriting the insurance contract further with them. We look forward to working with them throughout the term and beyond.”
