Accelerating your sustainability goals

We prioritise reducing our environmental impact to foster a sustainable future. Acknowledging the logistic industry’s inherent challenges, we are driven to implement positive changes that contribute to a greener tomorrow.

With the UK government targeting Net Zero by 2050, many businesses are intensifying their sustainability initiatives. We collaborate with you to achieve these goals (scope 1, 2, and 3) by embedding tangible, sustainable practices into our operations.

Alternative fuels

Depending on your needs, we offer both HVO and electric fuel solutions to support the diverse industries we serve. The integration of HVO into our fleet has already reduced emissions by 19%. All company cars are either BEV or PHEV, with charging stations available across our depot network.

Electric Manual Handling Equipment (MHE)

Over 90% of our MHE fleet across all depots is now powered by Lithium-ion technology, marking a major milestone to our decarbonisation journey.

90% waste recycling

In collaboration with ISM Waste & Recycling, we ensure that 100% of our operational waste is managed responsibly. While the national recycling rate was 44.1% in 2021, we proudly recycle up to 90% of our waste and continuously aim for 100%.

Solar energy production

Almost 80,000 kwh/year of solar energy is produced at our Coventry depot, enough to generate over 50% of the sites annual electricity usage. Further exploration of solar is planned for 2025.

Fuel-efficient equipment

Our commitment to sustainability extends to our warehouses, where we employ advanced, fuel-efficient equipment. Upgrading to Linde Material Handling forklifts resulted in a remarkable reduction of 11,930 kg of CO₂ between February 2022 and June 2023, demonstrating our dedication to responsible logistics practices.

The F&W Story

Having been in operation for almost a century, we’ve seen histories made, we’ve experienced periods of rapid development, and we’ve adapted to a great deal of change over the years, but our people have always been our driving force.
